Cracker (Edited by Author)

In Depression-era East Texas, a young white boy endures life under his abusive, alcoholic father while working alongside Black farmhands on a rural homestead. When his father suddenly disappears under mysterious circumstances, one of the Black families defies the era’s racial boundaries and takes the boy in as their own, giving him the love and stability he’s never known. But as he grows into a man, long-buried secrets about that night resurface, unraveling a shocking truth that forces him to confront the brutal realities of racism, the meaning of justice, and the power of a family formed not by blood, but by love.
