I'm guessing on this one, Ginger. I think Anna Magnani won it in '55 when Susan was nominated for "I'll Cry Tomorrow," so I'm going to say she lost out to her friend, Ingrid Bergman in '52 for Bergman's "Anastasia." But I'm not sure of this.
