SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

Thought this info might be of interest to board members as well as to Tim.
While checking out the newly purchased home of a relative on the internet,
I typed out the addresses of two of Susan's former homes:the first being
the one where she lived with Jess and the boys-3737 Longridge Ave,Sherman Oaks,California and than her last address-1460 Laurel Way in Beverly Hills.
Both houses are for sale! There is a slide show on the Longridge house and
mention of the fact that Susan lived there; apparently, this is the first time
in over 50 years that it has been up for sale and it appears that there has
been very little renovation-ie the bathrooms. The Laurel Way house is shown
in video and mentions that it underwent renovation in 2006. I hope Trish is
able to access this because that was when she visited LA and saw the house
as it was. It's beautiful and the view is breath taking. There is also mention that it was celebrity owned. Now if I could only convince my husband
to retire on the West Coast....of course, after we robbed a very big bank!!!!

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

Interesting news indeed Elaine. Thanks for that. I imagine it would very much be of note for Tim and Trish, for varying reasons as you say.

Let me know if your venture into bank heists is successful and I can try one here. Although for me to retire on West Coast, U.S.A. from East Coast Australia, I may need a bigger bank to hit- lol.

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

Thank you for the information Elaine. I would love to see the video but don't know how to access it.

I had my picture taken outside the Longridge Avenue home back in 1960 and wish I had had the guts to ring the bell although Susan had long left there and was living in Carrollton then. I would have tried the bell now - getting older has its compensations but back in the early days I was more reticent.

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

Thanks for posting this info, Elaine. I enjoyed seeing the photos of both houses. As it happens, I just finished reading the book "Red," and it helped me to visualize these sites as noted in the book.

Frankly, I was unaware how easy it is to access info on various properties online. While I was at it I checked out three houses (which are not for sale) belonging to my relatives. I think they would be surprised at the photos and info that are available about their properties online.

Thanks again.

Jill

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

I have just viewed the pictures of the Longridge Avenue house and also the video on Youtube of the one in Laurel Way. It was so interesting to see them and unbelievable to see the restoration in Laurel Way as when I was there, I was standing in a load of rubble!!
I would imagine Tim and Greg would be interested to see these and what a coincidence they are For Sale at the same time.

OMG It's gorgeous! It looks like you and Greg had lots and lots of room to play.

There are something like 25 to 30 photos at the link you gave here,Tim.

I love it.

What most people don't know is that we moved to another house - two doors down, on the same side of the street - in 1955 (3801 Longridge)...that house was even bigger with a completely terraced hillside with fountains, alcoves and lighting. She was living there when she met Eaton and us guys were sent off to boarding school at Chadwick in Palos Verdes. I took Ally and Michael to the 3737 house in the early 90's...Mom sold that house to her best friend and husband for peanuts...too many bad memories for her - battles with Dad, Don "Red" Barry and the first attempted suicide...yeah, there were other attempts...

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

I had not realized that there was another house on Longridge. I really love this one shown online.

I can understand why she would want to make a change.

Re: SUSAN'S HOMES FOR SALE

Beautiful house but too bad memories..Tim,I read in one of the biography about the house you moved after the divorce..I guess you meant the other suicide attempt while she Was in Rome with your Dad..hope there werent others...
