Jody- I have just done a six mile long post answering your points here, but when I attempted to ' Post Message' I got a warning message that my post contained spam ( no idea how as there were no inclusions, only my words which were very ordinary and standard)and that it was not able to be submitted.

However, it obliterated it as well!!

I almost decided to try to do it all again but if the same thing happened I would be so distraught I may throw myself in front of an onrushing glacier in despair.

I will have another go on another day...

Kerry, I don't know why that happened. That has happened to me before, and I just tried again, but I did a right click with the mouse and copied what I had written, then pasted it all back in again so I wouldn't have to retype it. I don't know why it's happening, and it's aggravating to me.

I think that with Lauren and Robin, although Lauren continued working and appearing in public through her old age, her public profile and global recognition status would have been miles below that of Robin. And quite possibly her fan base and admirers would have been of an older generation on average, whereas Robin was globally known across most age ranges.

The thing that struck me personally when Lauren passed was that ( maybe except for Olivia De Havilland who turned 98 last month) she was the among the very last of the Warner's contract players of the 1940's. Errol Flynn, Bogart, Eddie G Robinson, Paul Muni. Jimmy Cagney and so many others of that category- all gone.
