Holy Mother’s brother Prasanna had by his first wife Ramapriya two daughters, Nalini and Sushila, the latter of whom was called by the nickname Maku. After his wife’s death he took a second wife, Suhasini, who bore him three children. Nalini and Maku were later married but had unhappy lives. They lived mostly with Holy Mother. The second brother, Kalikumar, married Subodhbala and had two boys. Barada’s wife, Indumati, bore him two sons. Radharani, as we have already noted, was Abhaycharan’s posthumous daughter. They were all associated in various ways with Holy Mother’s life. Her sisters-in-law were much younger than she and she taught them their household duties. She herself trained them in cooking.
