During the second decade of the present century there was a great political ferment in the country. Many young men joined revolutionary societies organized to achieve India’s freedom. They were under the constant surveillance of the police, who also kept watch on anyone who gave them shelter. One such revolutionary young man went for initiation to Koalpara, where Holy Mother was then living. For fear of incurring the displeasure of the Government, the local devotees arranged for him to spend the night in a private house, being nervous about keeping him in the ashrama. Early next morning Holy Mother was going to visit Radhu when the young man met her on the road and received initiation.
