This is a beautiful but tragic love story set in Tahiti and neighbouring islands. Will the British born Alan Hardie marry his love Naia, a Tahitian beauty or will his father’s racial prejudice, his adopted brother’s genuine concerns, the British Consul’s protests, Alan’s own British culture, Naia’s mother’s superstition and the dark secret of her daughter’ birth, prevent it? If not, what will come of their love?
