For your consideration, the comedy script "And God Said, Let There Be Golf," based on the novel "The Secret History of Golf In Scotland," by Duncan McPherson. Set in 16th century Scotland, it's a heartwarming tale of drinking, fishing, and golfing... and the occasional boner.
It's reminiscent of the hilarious comedies set in small English/Irish towns (populated by quirky characters for whom normalcy is just one option in life) that came out in the 80’s and 90’s including “Waking Ned Devine,” “The Van,” “Saving Grace” and “The Full Monty." It also has the "rooting for the underdog" element that makes sports movies like "Rocky" and "The Karate Kid" so timelessly popular.
