Murray\'s comments on Ayler interest me - it\'s as if he\'s claiming to have been ignorant of Ayler, which seems unlikely. I remember going to the BIMHUIS in Amsterdam, late in the 60\'s as far as I can recall. Murray played solo (opposite James Newton on solo flute), and I was sufficiently irritated by Murray\'s plagiarism of AA to walk out of the gig - something I rarely do. |

Happy New Year Patrick, Sean, etc. Speaking as a letterpress printer, that LSE poster is a minor disaster (rush job, no attention to letterspacing, sloppy inking, unracking too quickly - faint offsetting from another poster in the pile) but I like that art nouveau-style Gothic Condensed (oops, Grotesque to you). Been busy but about to get back to another Ayler project, a transcription-comparison of Ghosts and the protoGhosts (Torparvisan & the snippet on Holy Holy. |

This is an amazing website, and I have checked in every month for the past couple years. Nice to have a place like this. Thanks for all your hard work! I've been sharing some personal reviews of Ayler albums over at my blog - The Jessamine Vine (thejessaminevine.blogspot.com). Might be of interest to some... |

Great website, check in on it every month. I'm a trombone player, trying to extend Jeff Schwartz' untangling of the Aylers' compositions. For instance, "Water Music" from the Last Album dates to '66 where it was listed in the Holy Ghost box as (Disc 3 #4) {untitled minor waltz) and on Live at Slugs as "Initiation" (up to 8:27, when Ghosts comes in; between 3:53 - 5:48 they play some Prophet as well. I know this is long for a Guest Book entry but I can't get to your email on my computer - please email me, I'll send my research. |

I truely appreciate this website. I found it while searching for some video of Ayler. The documentary made me cry. I want to see it again, and even more I'd like to see an uncut performance. I'd pay a lot of money for a dvd of that. |
