First of all, I am french, so my english is what it is, but that’s not the point at all. Like the person who wrote a credit before me, I am not so young : 69, and I’v always been interested in music since the sixties. I often search the « one hit wonders » because I wonder how it is possible to have some talent only once. Sometimes the search confirms the one hit thing, sometimes not. But I never searched David Mc Williams before today. So I am listening to everything, chronologically. And it’s a shock ! How can have such a good singer musician and songwriter been ignored ? Every new CD I listen to, I am nervous because I think « may be this one is not so good ». I am in the fourth, « Lord Offaly » on ITunes, and it’s like every album is better than the precedent, every song better than the precedent. With David you really don’t have to buy a best of : just buy everything and you will have the best of. That’s what I am doing just now, and I am happy Amazon have some Cds available. One more thing, for David : I do apologize for no having been more curious along the years. And we all should apologize. If you can hear me : THANK YOU. |

I\'m 62 years old now and have always been interested in music from the 70\'s. I worked as a DJ for a while as a teenager in the 70s. Now I\'m working through the old days and discovered David. I only knew Days of Pearly Spencer. Now I\'ve been proven wrong. The man sang such great songs. Super-duper. I\'m now checking to see if I can find all the songs. |

The first three albums and most of the associated singles will be released on an anthology by Cherry Red Records in October: https://www.cherryred.co.uk/product/david-mcwilliams-reaching-for-the-sun-the-major-minor-anthology-1967-1969-2cd-digipak/ Obviously this is long-awaited. 17 of these 53 tracks have never appeared on CD. \'Who Killed Ezra Brymay\' only ever appeared on an American release and is particularly welcome. However, the single version of \'God and Country\' and its non-album B-side, \'Blue Eyes\', are not included. I could easily do without the mono versions of \'Harlem Lady\' and \'Days of Pearly Spencer\' instead. |

The first time I ever heard David was on Radio Caroline. They were obviously plugging his record as much as possible, and what a great record it was. I loved it, both tracks!... \"Harlem Lady\" and \"Days of Pearly Spencer\". I immediately headed out for the record shop and bought it. It was on the \"Major Minor\" label. I still have the record and play it often and enjoy singing along with both tracks. (P.S. I used to be a lead singer myself at one time!). Until recently I had never seen what David looked like. Wow!.... What a shock!!! ...When I was his age, I might as well have had a twin brother!... Man, was I gob-smacked!... Talk about an eery feeling. ...Phew! I\'m a lot older now so the likeness has now faded, but it still gives me the \"shivers\" whenever I watch one of his videos. ...\"Cheers bro\", May you rest in peace. |

\"The Days of Pearly Spencer\" has been with me in x versions since 1967. It is together with \"Mr.Tambourine Man\" by Bob Dylan my top songs. In 1976, for my church wedding, I had the instrumental version of \"The Days of Pearly Spencer\" transcribed for ORGAN by \"Orches-tra Caravelli\". It is the song of my life! \"The Days of Pearly Spencer\" begleitet mich seit 1967 in x-Versionen. Es ist zusammen mit \"Mr.Tambourine Man\" von Bob Dylan meine Top-Songs. In 1976 hatte ich zur meiner Kirchen-Hochzeit die Instrumentalversion \"The Days of Pearly Spencer\" vom \"Orchester Caravelli\" für ORGEL transkribieren. Es ist der Song meines Lebens! |

Greetings from one of what must be just a handful of those familiar with David through the US Kapp album, which I played incessantly in 1968. |
