All Viet Nam veterans well be honored at our annual Association memorial service at the New Mexico veterans memorial. Renion information can be found on our web site.

I am looking for information on LST 1165 Washoe County during Operation JackStay. The U.S. navy web site lists no deaths on your ship during that time period. I was told that there was a death there and that previous two operation Jackstay a navy crewmen aboard the USS Washal 1165 hung themselves. I\'m looking to verify the sum for Mason. Anyone could let me know I would very much appreciate it thank you

USS Washoe County LST-1165 in 1998 and Found help from the US LST
Asso. the Mobil Riverine Force Asso. and from Grant Lee who lives in PA and from thoes I found. Shiver me timbers what a wonderful group of guys
we have.

Posting a comment to hopefully keep this Web site alive. Served 8 years in the Navel Reserve and spent time on the Washoe County LST back in 1955 right after it was put into service. It was stationed at Little Creek At the Norfork Naval Base. At that time it was just named LST 1165. I think I was a EM3 at the time. Ended up EM1 at discharge. I know, one of those snipes.
