A Jewish teenage boy hides from the Nazis when they invade his town taking his parents and friend. Fearing they will back Victor decides to leave. The story is made for television a four part series tells the different experiences that he encounters in order to survive. He takes refuge on a fishing boat left behind he lives on the streets in Hamburg when a prositute finds him sleeping under the stair well and takes him in. The last part of the series he sees boys his age marching down the street in uniforms members of the Hitler Youth. Victor decides to join instead of running from the Nazis he plays his role very well and is respected by his peers. Victor eventually finds out what concentrated camp they took his parents and decides to go find them.
